Our Chapter history:
The Zeta Sigma Chapter at UC Davis officially re-founded in the Winter quarter of 2012. After two years of hard work and dedication, the chapter received its charter on May 4, 2014. Pi Kappa Phi Zeta Sigma Chapter continues to strive for the highest possible standards of academic and campus involvement. Pi Kappa Phi prides itself on being a strictly non-hazing fraternity with the core values of scholarship, leadership, service to the community, and brotherhood.
Scholarship:
While we are a social fraternity and enjoy having fun, we believe that scholarship is of the utmost importance and we push each other to attain the best possible grades we can. Putting a strong emphasis on scholarship has placed us among the highest average Greek GPAs and has put us above the average campus men's GPA. Quarter after quarter, our chapter strives to attain the highest possible standards of scholarship.
Leadership
As men of Pi Kappa Phi, we are leaders by choice. The Zeta Sigma Chapter boasts one of the highest rates of campus involvement among all Greek organizations at UC Davis, social or otherwise. We believe that every brother has the potential to be a leader, and we try to bring it out in all of us through leadership positions within the organization as well as encouraging participation in outside organizations. Through our national fraternity, executive members of the chapter attend a weekend-long leadership training conference every January to learn the skills necessary to fulfill their duties. Also, our national fraternity offers an annual, week-long leadership program during the summer which any member can attend.
Service
We pride ourselves in being the only national Greek organization to own and operate its own philanthropy, The Ability Experience. The Ability Experience works through fundraising, volunteerism, and raising awareness to foster a community in which the abilities of all people are recognized and valued. Through our philanthropy, we volunteer with local organizations such as Best Buddies and Team Davis. On a national level, Pi Kappa Phi and The Ability Experience have three main events that brothers from across the country participate in: The Journey of Hope, Gear Up Florida, and Build America. Brotherhood
Brotherhood is something that a majority of the members of our chapter consider to be the most important part of our fraternity. Although we have a do not have the largest chapter, this allows us to get to know each and every brother on a personal level; something that cannot be achieved in larger houses. In order to keep our brotherhood strong, we hold monthly brotherhood events that range from brotherhood barbecues, hikes at Lake Berryessa, paintball, winter ski/snowboard trips, and summer road trips to Las Vegas and Southern California. We believe that the strength and success of a chapter begin with strong relationships between brothers, and it is for this reason that every member, from President to associate members, are treated with the utmost respect.
